Beginning in 2024, UnitedHealthcare is expanding member value by working with Amazon—another consumer-focused brand that you know and love—to fulfill online orders for participating non-SNP and C-SNP members with an OTC-only benefit. Members told UnitedHealthcare that they wanted better OTC product quality, value and availability when shopping through the UnitedHealthcare digital experience, and they listened and are taking action. This new relationship between UnitedHealthcare and Amazon is the first of its kind in the industry and demonstrates the commitment to delivering a truly premium member experience by offering members greater flexibility and increased buying power with more products, more brand and generic options, more value for their dollar and faster shipping with no minimum purchase requirement.
Participating members in non-SNP with an OTC benefit and C-SNP members with an OTC-only benefit (i.e., no healthy food) will continue to use the UCard Hub on the UnitedHealthcare website and mobile app to shop for OTC products online. Starting in 2024, products will be fulfilled by Amazon (note: the UnitedHealthcare® UCard will not work to buy directly through Amazon).
Eligible members with an OTC benefit that can be used on healthy foods (e.g., D-SNP and select C-SNPs) will continue to have their online orders fulfilled by Walmart. They will have access to a broad range of products and free standard shipping with a minimum order of $35.
Eligible members can still shop in-store with their OTC benefit at any of the 55k+ stores in the S3 retail network, including Walmart, Walgreens, Kroger, CVS and more. And with the new product scanner in our UHC mobile app, shopping in-store has never been easier.
Current eligible members will receive an email soon about this exciting new relationship. Toolkit materials will be updated to reflect this change.
