Mid-Level Providers Now Included in Cigna's Directories

Updates to Cigna's Directories

Great news! Cigna will be adding physician assistants (PA’s) and nurse practitioners (NP’s), also known as mid-level providers, to the Cigna Medicare provider directories. This includes Cigna's online provider directory (OLPD), offline provider directory, and third-party enrollment tools that also have a provider look-up feature. They have already uploaded approximately 500 providers and will continue updating the directory throughout the year. 

Cigna knows that your customers often see these mid-level providers at their doctor's office and want to confirm they are in-network before enrolling in a new plan, so this change will make it even easier to choose Cigna!

This enhancement will be rolled out in three phases:

 Phase1: Completed

Added approximately 500 mid-level providers from six CareAllies independent physician associations (IPA) to the provider directories. Including; Alabama: Iron City IPA, Pennsylvania: Constitution IPA, Tennessee: Synergy, Texas: El Paso Integral Care, Renaissance Physicians Organization, Valley Organized Physicians

Phase 2: To be completed by 12/31/2022 

By the end of 2022, Cigna anticipates a significant number of mid-level providers will be added to the directories. 

Phase 3: Ongoing

 Cigna provider teams will continue to work hard to expand the mid-level provider population on ago-forward rolling basis.
