UPMC for Life’s 2022 plans include many exciting benefits that can improve the overall health of members. One of the ways they help members live their best lives is by providing affordable prescription drug coverage. With so many improvements, they wanted to provide you with a recap of the positive changes to their prescription and diabetic drug coverage.
$0 preferred generic prescriptions―More medications were added to UPMC's preferred generic (Tier 1) drug list for 2022. Members can take advantage of a $0 copay when filling these medications at preferred pharmacies. Click here to view more information.
Cost savings on diabetic medications―Members can take advantage of copays as low as $10 in the initial coverage stage for covered (Tier 2), brand-name, non-insulin diabetic medications that help lower blood sugar.* And they can also save money when they fill covered diabetic insulin medications in the Part D coverage gap, otherwise known as the “donut hole.” They’ll pay the same copays in the Part D initial coverage and coverage gap donut hole stages, which can save hundreds!
