Now Open: Express Care at AHN North Fayette

Newly Renovated: Express Care at AHN Suburban - Bellevue

Emails to opted-in members will be sent starting the week of July 1.

An email campaign announcing the opening of Express Care at the AHN North Fayette Health + Wellness Pavilion, and the newly renovated Express Care at AHN Suburban - Bellevue, will be sent to opted-in MA and ACA members (18+) who live within 10 miles of the facilities.

These new and upgraded facilities are yet another example of Highmark's' commitment to providing members with access to fast expert care, right where they live.

AHN Express Care facilities specialize in minor, nonemergency health issues including:

  • Colds, fevers, earaches, and sore throats
  • Minor cuts, burns, sunburns, and rashes
  • Asthma, seasonal allergies, and pink eye
  • Muscle strains and sprains
  • Urinary tract infections

Highmark is very excited about these additional care options for members in Western Pennsylvania!

Reminder: Completing your ACA Individual Broker Hierarchy Change Forms and Individual Book of Business Release Forms

From time to time Highmark will get questions about some of their ACA business forms. Here are some basics to help you better understand how a few of them work.

Individual Broker Hierarchy Change Form

Points of Clarity

  • Filling out the Hierarchy form does not transfer your book of business to the agency.
  • If you are an agent that sells both Medicare and ACA, a separate Hierarchy form is required for each line of business.
  • If you and/or your downline Agents have had NO production in the past three months, a Transfer Release Form is not required.

Completing the Form

  • Sections 1-3 MUST be completed. Section 4 should be left blank and is for internal use only.
  • You MUST select either Broker Only or Agency and Downline Brokers. If Agency and Downline Brokers is selected, please include a list of the downline brokers and their NPNs.
  • Section 2 refers to the Top of Hierarchy that the broker is currently contracted through.
  • If you are unable to obtain the necessary signature in Section 2, the transfer will take effect the first of the month, following the third month after the Intent to Transfer request is received by Highmark. For example, if the request is received on March 15, the change would take effect July 1.
  • Section 3 refers to the new Top of Hierarchy the broker is changing to.

Individual Book of Business Release Form

Points of Clarity

  • If you are an agent that sells both Medicare and ACA, a separate Book of Business Release Form is required for each line of business.
  • If multiple Agents are transferring their Book of Business, a separate Release Form will need to be completed for each Agent.
  • If the Book of Business Release Form is not signed and approved, then the Book of Business remains under the current Hierarchy with the same agent of record.
  • In the event the original broker is unavailable to sign off on the book of business release (i.e. deceased broker), written notice from the principal of the General Agency describing the extenuating circumstances will be required along with the Book of Business Release Form.

Completing the Form

  • Section 2 refers to the Top of Hierarchy that the broker is currently contracted through.
  • Section 3 refers to the new Top of Hierarchy the broker is moving their Book of Business to. If the current broker is going to remain the Agent of Record, this section would include the current agent's information. If the current agent is transferring their Book of Business to another agent, the new agent's information would be added to this section.
