Please see the message from Cigna below regarding an update on cash cards and grocery cards for 2022:
"For 2022, we were excited to offer two popular benefits into new markets: the Cigna cash card and the grocery benefit.
As a refresher, these benefits are available for dual-eligible customers in some areas. The Cigna cash card carries a balance that your customer can use to pay regular bills*. The dollar amount on the card rolls over from month to month, up to three years. The grocery benefit is an allowance specifically to be used for healthy food from participating retailers. This benefit must be used each month and does not roll over.
Most customers received the card to use the grocery benefit earlier this month, but due to a technical issue, some customers did not receive their card. Please be assured that we will work to extend January grocery benefits to customers who were affected by this so that they have full access to their benefits.
Cash cards were delayed due to COVID staffing issues issue with our print vendor, and those mailings are expected to mailed out first class this week. As a reminder, the cash benefit rolls over each month, so there is no impact to the ability to use this benefit even though the card has been delayed."
*Cash card can be used to meet any need with the exception of purchases at standalone liquor and tobacco stores and casinos.
Please consult your benefits summary for more detailed information.
