FitOn Health: Helping Members Sign Up for their Account and Purchase Gym Memberships

January 20, 2025

Highmark wanted to share easy step-by step instructions on how members can enroll with this valuable benefit.

To sign up for their FitOn account, members should:

  1. Go to fitonhealth.com/register.
  2. Enter their preferred email address and choose a secure password to create their account. Helpful Tip: Their password must be at least eight characters long, contain at least one capital letter, at least one lowercase letter, and at least one special character (ie. #, !).
  3. The member must check the box that they have acknowledged the "Terms of Use", prior to clicking "Next."
  4. On the next screen, the member must enter their first name, last name, date of birth, and zip code, all of which must match what is on their Highmark ID card. Click "Submit."

Note: If their information isn't matching, there are a few items to check.

  • Moved recently? Try the zip code from their previous home address.
  • Remember to use their legal name (first and last name only) - the name on their Highmark ID card.
  • Do not enter middle name or middle initial to avoid errors with validation.
  • Double check the date of birthday format: MM/DD/YYYY

How Members can Purchase a Gym Membership with their FitOn Credits

Since the transition to FitOn, members may be unfamiliar with how credits are used to purchase membership or schedule classes. The following outlines the processes to select facilities and purchase memberships using FitOn credits.

With FitOn Health, members automatically get 32 credits every month, which is like having $80 per month to spend on gym memberships and classes!

On average, gym memberships cost between 12 and 25 credits, so whatever is left over can be used for other gym expenses. For example, if a membership costs 12 credits, the member will have 20 credits left for additional memberships or classes. Credits are replenished on the first day of the month and don't roll over.

Members aren’t limited to a network, but Preferred gyms might be a better deal for a member's credits vs. Extended Network gyms. The following outlines the difference between Preferred and Extended Networks:

  • Preferred Network Gyms: Gyms that FitOn has agreements with that can be searched for on the post-login screen.  Membership cost for these gyms will be displayed in credits and the member can sign up directly from the FitOn site.
  • Extended Network Gyms: Gyms that FitOn does not have an agreement with that will require members to establish a digital debit card in their FitOn account online or in the app to purchase a membership through the gym's website. See the following video for assistance: Digital Debit Card Video Tutorial.  For additional help, please call the FitOn team at 1-855-946-4036.

To begin exploring FitOn's network of fitness facilities online or in the FitOn app, members can click on the In-Person tab  (in between the Digital and Meals tabs). They then enter their city or zip code in the search bar where it says, "Your Area." A list of facilities in their area will appear on the left side of the screen. The member can scroll through the list to view their options.

HELPFUL TIP: To narrow their search for a facility, the member may simply enter the facility name where it says, "Find where to get your FitOn." They should be sure their city or zip code is still listed in the "Your Area" field.

The gym search tool will find gyms in the member’s area, but there’s a particular way they must search.  If the member types a name or location into the search tool and hits enter, it will not return a result. They must type in the address, city, county, or zip code and look for available options displayed below the search box. The member can then click on the option that matches their search and results will populate.

Members may also sort their view by distance or name. If they are looking for facilities that offer memberships, they can navigate to the "Membership" drop-down and toggle the membership option to "on".

Once they have located a facility they are interested in, the member should visit the facility's dedicated page by clicking on the title from the explore page. If a membership is offered, they can follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the facility's page from the explore page.
  2. Click 'Purchase Membership'.
  3. To confirm, click "purchase" again inside of the new pop-up window.
  4. Upon completing the purchase transaction, the member will automatically receive a confirmation receipt to their email address on file.
  5. The member may choose to print their confirmation email out or write down their Member ID number (ID begins with PF) to bring into the facility with them.
  6. Please allow the facility 24 hours to process a membership purchase.
  7. Upon arrival at the gym, the member should mention that they have purchased a membership to the facility through FitOn Health. (Some facilities may recognize FitOn Health as Peerfit Move, their former name.)
  8. The member may be asked to present their confirmation receipt or provide their Member ID number.

IMPORTANT: All memberships purchased through the member's fitness benefit are single, adult memberships. Their membership will automatically renew each month until explicitly canceled.
