Florida Blue Medicare Spotlight: RPPO Exit and PPO Migration Opportunities

Important Updates on RPPO Exit and Migration Opportunities: Help members transition from RPPO to LPPO plans

As we kick off the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP), there's an opportunity to familiarize yourself with Florida Blue's LPPO plans as they work to educate members currently enrolled in the Regional PPO (RPPO) and migrate them to a new LPPO plan.

Key Takeaways:

  • Members who are currently enrolled in the RPPO plan must take action to avoid returning to Original Medicare effective January 1, 2025. This would mean they would lose their prescription drug coverage.
  • These members will have a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) through the end of February 2025, but to avoid any benefit interruption, they need to make a decision by December 31, 2024 for a January 1, 2025 enrollment.
  • Florida Blue Medicare has identified two sets of counties where they can offer alternative plans to these members:
    • $0 LPPO: There is a $0 premium plan available in the following counties: Bay, Brevard, Broward, Calhoun, Charlotte, Citrus, Clay, Duval, Escambia, Flagler, Franklin, Gadsden, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Jefferson, Lake, Lee, Leon, Liberty, Manatee, Marion, Martin, Nassau, Okaloosa, Palm Beach, Pinellas, Polk, Saint Johns, Saint Lucie, Santa Rosa, Sarasota, Sumter, Volusia, Wakulla, and Walton.
    • $28 LPPO: For counties where the $0 LPPO is not available, they still have a PPO option for only $28 a month, using the same extensive PPO network. Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Collier, Columbia, De Soto, Dixie, Gilchrist, Glades, Gulf, Hamilton, Hardee, Hendry, Holmes, Jackson, Lafayette, Levy, Madison, Monroe, Okeechobee, Pasco, Putnam, Suwannee, Taylor, Union, and Washington.

Take Action:

Florida Blue Medicare needs your help to reach out to members in these counties and educate them on the available LPPO options. Your efforts will help ensure that these members do not experience any coverage interruption and can continue to receive the coverage they need.
