UnitedHealthcare: Change to business cancellation process

At The Chesapeake Life Insurance Company, a UnitedHealthcare Company (formally SureBridge), we understand and value the relationship you have with your clients. Your clients work with you because they desire expert knowledge and a personal experience. While offering great service to your clients is important, it can sometimes lead to you spending more time on administrative tasks like contact information updates, payment changes, and cancellations.
 
As of June 1, 2023, brokers will no longer be able to cancel plans on  behalf of a member, whether by phone or through self-service tools. We  instead ask that you encourage your The Chesapeake Life Insurance Company  clients to use their Member Hub website, www.uhcmemberhub.com  to make any changes such as address, change to dependents, payment, or  request to cancel.    

How UHC Member Hub can help your clients

When your clients can manage their plans 24/7/365 that makes for a more engaged member and a happier client for you! Encourage your clients to register and use Member Hub, so they can do things on their own schedule – no phone calls to you or to customer service. Here are some helpful things your clients can do on the Member Hub:

  • View coverage and plan benefits
  • Find network providers, if needed for their plan
  • Make a one-time payment, set up reoccurring payments and view payment history
  • Print ID cards if their plan provides an ID Card
  • Send a secure message to get help or ask a question
  • Update their contact information (address, email, phone)
  • And, if necessary, cancel plans
