UnitedHealthcare: Florida appointment clean-up

Florida appointment clean-up

UnitedHealthcare supports an appointment process called “Just in Time” (JIT), which allows agents to become automatically appointed once they sell a plan rather than requesting, waiting for processing and paying for appointments they may not use.

Florida is a JIT appointment state. Before becoming a JIT state, agents and solicitors who were licensed to sell in Florida were required to be appointed for all plans. As a JIT state, agents and solicitors who are licensed to sell in Florida are only required to be appointed for the plans they sell. As a result, UnitedHealthcare has identified numerous unused Florida appointments.

Therefore, UnitedHealthcare will terminate the unused appointments of Florida ICA, IMO and EDC agents (contracted at agent level only) and solicitors who are not selling Medicare plans or are not currently receiving renewal commissions for Medicare plans sold in Florida. By terminating unused appointments, UnitedHealthcare will help reduce agent’s and solicitor’s non-resident appointment fee chargebacks.

The terminations will not impact:

  • Ability to sell (in a JIT state, appointments needed for new sales are automatically added)
  • Contracting status
  • Uplines’ Florida appointments
  • Active Florida appointments required for renewal commissions
  • Florida appointments for Individual & Family Plans business sold

There is no action needed. You may view your state appointments and ready to sell status in Jarvis > click your profile name in the upper right corner > Manage Profile.
