AEP tip of the week: Application processing time

Save yourself a call to the Producer Help Desk (PHD) and allow up to seven business days for your applications to process, even if they are marked as pended during that time. UnitedHealthcare teams are hard at work during this busy season verifying information so that you don’t have to worry. Additionally, if your client was recently assigned a new Medicare Beneficiary Identification (MBI) number by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) but their application was submitted with the old MBI, we will automatically convert it to the new MBI with no action needed from you.

3 Tips to make the most of appointments

The time you have with clients can be crucial to ensuring they find the right plan and you retain their business year after year. That’s why it’s important for you to make the most of this time with your clients. To support you, UnitedHealthcare provides resources to make meeting with clients easier. Here are three tips to help ensure you can focus on the needs of your clients and match them with the best plan for them:

  1. Get off to a great start with the 2025 Medicare Plan Checkup (can be found in Jarvis)
  2. Reference Jarvis self-service tools for quick support and a great understanding of UnitedHealthcare plans and benefits
  3. Utilize the Referral Relationship Letter to get more out of your meetings

Making a great first impression, having the right tools by your side and always asking for referrals can help ensure your business has a successful AEP and your clients find the right plans!

Updated Safe Drug Disposal Handout

The Safe Drug Disposal Handout has been updated and is now available on the Sales Material Portal. This handout can be used to provide consumers with safe medication disposal information. Updates include notice of non-discrimination and multi-language interpreter services.

The updated handout is available on Jarvis > Sales Tools > Sales Materials > Order Materials > Filter by Doc Type > Safe Drug Disposal Handout. You can review the job aid to learn how to compliantly provide consumers with safe medication disposal information on Jarvis > Learning Lab > Content Library > Health Assessment (HA) (course).

What’s new for 2025 UCard

The UnitedHealthcare UCard® is a member’s ID card and so much more. It opens doors for Medicare Advantage members’ care, rewards and more. The UCard ships once the enrollment application is approved, so members typically receive their UCard before their plan effective date! Members can even track the status of their UCard on their member site or the UnitedHealthcare mobile app.

UnitedHealthcare continues to enhance the UCard, providing members with more value. Check out what’s new for 2025:

  • All Individual Medicare Advantage members, except members in MASCO, will receive a new UCard for 2025. Members may receive their new UCard as early as November.
  • For most members, the UCard includes a magnetic stripe, making it easier for members to use their credits when shopping in-store.
  • The primary care provider will not be on the UCard for most plans that do not require a referral.

Get recognized for being a top sales agent

The UnitedHealthcare Premier Producer program rewards the top UnitedHealthcare Medicare sales agents. By reaching specific eligibility criteria, Premier Producers earn priority treatment with the Producer Help Desk (PHD), a UHC Agent Toolkit credit and much more. Qualification for the Premier Producer program is based on key elements including new enrollments or book of business. And, new for 2025, complaint volume and tenure of at least 12 months selling UnitedHealthcare Medicare plans. Eligibility for the Premier Producer program is assessed every January to recognize agents’ hard work during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP).
