September 30, 2024
UnitedHealthcare

Make the most of your time this October for a successful AEP

As you know, October kicks off the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)! The first two weeks are your last push to prepare and the second two weeks allow you to start applying all you’ve learned. Whether you’ve been selling for years or are newly licensed, having a checklist can help you make sure you’re covering everything. That’s why we created an AEP Agent Playbook focused on selling Medicare Advantage plans!

Top tips from the 2025 AEP Agent Playbook:

  • Meet with members. Educate them on their plan options. Starting 10/1 – inform them of the plans available in their area.
  • Do your homework. Study the plans, benefits, formularies, network changes and other key market information to be sure you can explain it accurately to members. Use the Medicare Product Portal to view local plan information.
  • Know your resources. Connect with your local UnitedHealthcare team and explore the many resources available to you on the UHC Agent Toolkit to connect with both current members and new clients. Check out the UHC Agent Toolkit Guide to learn how to quickly find what you need.

2025 Member Plan Education Presentation now available

All members should have received their 2025 Annual Notice of Changes (ANOC), so now is a great time to review key benefit details with your existing book of business and check in on their needs for the coming year.

Take advantage of these 2025 resources on the UHC Agent Toolkit designed to support you and your clients.

  • Use the 2025 Member Plan Education Presentation to review 2025 Medicare Advantage plan features with your existing book of business. Search keywords 2025 Member Plan Education Presentation.
  • Send the Member ANOC Relationship Letter to encourage members to start thinking about the upcoming enrollment period and reach out to you with any questions. Search keywords ANOC Relationship.

New and enhanced training materials to support you during AEP

UnitedHealthcare is pleased to announce more 2025 training materials that are enhanced to better meet your needs and provide the information you need during AEP.

The Enrollment Handbook provides requirements and best practices for completing a compliant, accurate and efficient enrollment for Medicare Advantage, Part D and Special Needs Plans. And it now includes an advanced search feature, so you can quickly locate the information you need on conducting a compliant, accurate and efficient enrollment.

More 2025 Agent Quick Reference Guides are now available on Jarvis including:

  • Rewards
  • Fitness
  • Part B Premium rebates

Don’t forget to check out the OTC + Healthy Food + Utilities, Dental, Vision, Hearing, UnitedHealthcare UCard® and new plan designs Agent Quick Reference Guides.

Key Part D resources to help you support your consumers

As you likely heard, the Part D program will change in 2025 – including changes that may benefit certain members like the member’s Maximum Out of Pocket (MOOP) cost decreasing from $8,000 to $2,000 and more. Take advantage of UnitedHealthcare's 2025 Part D FAQ (found in Jarvis) for a detailed overview of these changes and watch for national webinars and more agent resources coming soon.

UnitedHealthcare has also created resources and tools you can use to educate your members. Visit UHC.com to view their Part D landing page you can share with clients. There you’ll find information on the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan, a video with a simple and clear overview of the changes, an FAQ and an overview of the Inflation Reduction Act.

Plus, use the UnitedHealthcare Drug Cost Estimator, which will be updated early this week, to review drugs and share the expected 2025 costs when meeting with your clients.

Another successful UCard® Member Week

UnitedHealthcare's commitment to providing value for members was evident during UCard® Member Week, held Sept. 2-8. This event, designed to make healthcare more accessible and rewarding and ensure members feel valued and supported, generated incredible member engagement, with over 1 million visits to UCardMember.com More than 113,000 members viewed their UnitedHealthcare discounts and thousands purchased a FitbitTM with their discount. Members particularly enjoyed Walgreens Senior Day, where they benefited from a 20% discount when shopping with their UCard.
