Wellcare Insider: Important Updates and Reminders

AHIP Training Now Available

2024 AHIP Training is now available through the Centene Learning Center. Whether you're completing the training and final exam for the first time, or you've been through it many times before, following these steps to prepare ahead of time can help with success on the first try.

  • Don't Delay - It may seem like you have plenty of time to complete the training, but getting it out of the way early can alleviate stress later and leave more time for getting sales ready as AEP approaches.      
  • Balance Facts with Knowledge - Be prepared for questions that will ask you to apply your knowledge to a specific situation, rather than just providing a fact. Questions like this may draw on knowledge gleaned from several areas and require you to apply it to a specific beneficiary situation.
  • Get Organized - Even though the exam is open-book format, you'll want to have all of your resources organized and readily available. Print the quizzes with their correct answers, save them as PDFs or take screenshots that you can have readily available during the exam. Many of the exam questions may come directly from the module quizzes. Organize browser tabs ahead of time with the web page resources you may need.
  • Pace Yourself - The timed exam has a two-hour limit. While this is ample time for completing the exam, you don't want to linger too long on questions that are causing you difficulty. Instead, focus on finishing all the questions     you can answer confidently, then go back to the questions that may take more time. Staying relaxed and focusing on this as an opportunity to demonstrate all of your hard-earned knowledge is the key to a successful 2024 AHIP.

Please keep in mind that successful AHIP completion is required prior to starting Wellcare's Annual Certification Training (ACT),available beginning July 11, 2023.

Take a moment now to review the New Member Onboarding Experience resource for a visual representation of each step in the process. Understanding the member's journey through the crucial first few weeks will help you to better prepare and inform your members on what they can expect, while increasing their confidence that support is available as they become familiar with their chosen plan.

Roadshow Season is Underway

Long before the sales start, the education begins. Summertime in the Medicare Advantage world means First Looks, product Deep Dives and other important opportunities to expand your product knowledge with a variety of    educational offerings through your regional market.

With both virtual and in-person learning options, you'll want to mark your calendar to attend as many local offerings as you can. In addition to gaining valuable insight and knowledge surrounding Wellcare products and benefits, you'll also have the opportunity to connect with others in the field and build your network as you head into sales season.

Be on the lookout for email invitations to local trainings in your area, or reach out to your regional agency manager for details on trainings that may be coming up.
